ThanK you. How long do you normally need to let a layer of paint dry before sanding? It would be a shame to cause damage to all of that hard work by handling it too soon!

Polyurethane can turn light colors yellow over time. As long as you sand it enough to dull the finish and use a good primer, you should be fine to paint it following my tutorial. I have a dresser Im thinking of repainting. A mirror with detailed carving in the frame?

Being chemical, it really stinks—so you'll want to use it outside and wear gloves and protective googles or maybe don't use it to all if those kinds of fumes really get to you. I'm not very experienced in using chemical stripping agents though.
